Archives

The Rabin Center Archive constitutes part of the National State Archive, and includes archival materials pertaining to security and Yitzhak Rabin's political contribution. The archive also includes personal material that belonged to Rabin, as well as other documents that testify to the atmosphere existing in the country prior to the assassination and the expressions of grief in Israel and from around the world after it.

The archive includes documents, photos, newspaper excerpts, exclusive interviews with the personalities and comrades who supported the path led by Yitzhak Rabin. These have been edited by the Rabin Center within the framework of an oral documentation project that is also based on video and voice clips, as well as a collection of relevant films.

The archival material may be viewed through the search engine of the Center’s archive which is situated on its website.

The archive is open to the public, subject to prior coordination, from Sunday to Thursday from 08:00 to 16:00.

Following is the list of materials contained in the archive:

1922-1995

  • Personal materials belonging to Yitzhak Rabin, such as handwritten letters, photo albums of the Rabin family from his youth until the assassination, and documentation attesting to his political and party activity.
  •  A collection of incitement publications that preceded the assassination, including newspaper articles, posters, fliers, stickers, etc.
  • A personal collection donated by the late Professor Ehud Sprinzak, who researched the radical right wing political movement in Israel.
  •  A series of documents, photocopied from archives in Israel and abroad, concerning the part Yitzhak Rabin played in the varius arenas of his life: the military, political, and internal party politics.
  •  Documents collected from various archives around the world in the framework of research that was conducted on Yitzhak Rabin.
  •  Newspaper clips, audio transcriptions from Israel and abroad on the entire public life of Yitzhak Rabin.
  •  Audio and video tapes of Yitzhak Rabin, from both radio and TV programs he took part in.
  •  Films featuring Yitzhak Rabin during the years of his public life.

 

1995 and later

  • Video tapes of TV programs dedicated to his memory.
  •  Filmed interviews with personalities who worked alongside Yitzhak Rabin, edited by the Rabin Center.
  •  Children’s drawings that were sent to the Rabin family. Artwork that was created in Israel and abroad in his memory, political correspondence that followed the assassination as well as newspaper clips from Israel and abroad. Various personal effects and notes that were left on Rabin Square in Tel Aviv or on his grave, as well as stickers, fliers etc. that were published prior to and following the assassination , and photo albums depicting the activities he was engaged in during his life.
  • Documentation of events and congresses organized by the Rabin Center throughout the year, and especially close to Yitzhak Rabin National Memorial Day.
