Commemorating the 14th Memorial Day of Prime Minister and Minister of Defense Yitzhak Rabin, z"l.
The Knesset convened for the 14th Memorial Day service Thursday, October 29, 2009. Addressing the Members of Knesset, Rabin family and guests were Knesset Speaker Reuven Rivlin, Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu, Minister of Defense Ehud Barak and Opposition Leader Tzipi Livni.
The 14th Memorial Day ceremony atop Mt. Herzl took place Thursday, October 29, 2009. The ceremony was attended by the President of Israel, Chief Justice of the Supreme Court, Members of Knesset, the Rabin family and guests. Speaking at the ceremony were President Shimon Peres, Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu and grandson Yonatan Ben Artzi with musical performance by Boaz Mauda.

The 14th Memorial Day Candle Lighting ceremony took place Wednesday, October 28, 2009 at the President’s Residence in Jerusalem. Addressing the audience were President Shimon Peres and Yuval Rabin. Taking part in the ceremony with songs in memory of the late Prime Minister were students from the Yitzhak Rabin School for Peace in Jerusalem.

The14th Memorial Day ceremony at the Hadera power plant of Israel’s Electric Company took place Thursday, October 22, 2009. Each year, the power plant, named after Rabin, hosts an intimate ceremony in his honor (Yitzhak Rabin’s father worked for the Israel Electric Company. A supporter of the company, Yitzhak Rabin visited the plant just days before the assassination). Speaking at this year’s service were representatives of the Israel Electric Company and Ms. Dalia Rabin. Students from the Yitzhak Rabin School for Peace in Jerusalem performed songs in memory of the late Prime Minister.
